This is a quick how-to guide on adding videos from YouTube to our video directory.
First of all, you'd have to find a video on YouTube (or Metacafe/Sevenload/MyVideo) and then you'll find a "URL" (or web address) for that video file. Here's a screen print of an example of a video of the "Secrets of Stonehenge that I added....
.....as you can see on the screenprint, there are two boxed areas. The first one (#1) is what you click to display the second one. So, click on the "Share" button and you'll see the next part display. Since it's already highlighted, simply right click and then click on copy. Now, we are ready to load the video into The Mystery District Videos section.
Go to the top of the site and look for the navigation link labeled "Mystery District Videos".....
......once you click on "Mystery District Videos", you'll be taken to the Video Homepage. On the right hand side (see screenprint below) you'll see the categories section. Here's the screenprint....
.....at this point you can simply click the "New Video" and you'll be taken to the video loading page. Please select the most appropriate video category.
.....once you select the appropriate video category, you would then paste (right click in the "Video URL" space and click 'paste') the URL that you copied from the YouTube page. Here's where you paste the "URL"....
..... and after pasting the "URL" into the appropriate boxed area, then you click on the "load information" button just to the right of the URL box. This will 'pull' the information over from YouTube and post it automatically into the boxes.
After the information is populated into the boxes, you are only a couple of steps away from the posting of the video. Simply check the "tags" box to make sure that there aren't more than 8 tags. If there are, simply remove the least appropriate tags to get it under the limit. Then, check the box (step 2) to make sure that a new thread is started in the "General Discussions" forum to start some discussions about the video.
Once that's done....simply click on "Add Video" and you're done! Now, we can enjoy an interesting video on The Mystery District!
